After two wonderfully received singles, it is finally time to present Martingale by extremely versatile Mayten.
The album was directly inspired by the beauty and uniqueness of Icelandic nature. The artist spent a month in desolate parts of the country soaking up the aura of glaciers and waterfalls. The six songs depicted wonderfully illustrate his adventure on this secluded island. Mayten flawlessly combines electronica with sublime organic elements, thus personifying unbridled nature. Mayten plays with the form and visualizes travelled landscapes with his style. Ambient layers are sometimes disturbed by a penetrating beat. Calm strings are enriched with gritty synthesizers. In all this, he is supported by fantastic guests who, lending their talent, took their songs to high places.
Martingale is a powerful dose of emotions enclosed within six songs. You can feel here every kilometre travelled on the mysterious island, but also passion and a great love of music. We strongly suggest closing your eyes while listening to this extraordinary album in the corner of your own home to feel its enormity.
